Use and installation of tapered roller bearings

The type code of tapered roller bearings is 30000, and tapered roller bearings are separate bearings. Under normal circumstances, especially within the size range involved in GB/T307.1-94 "Rolling Bearings Radial Bearing Tolerances", the outer ring and inner components of tapered roller bearings are 100% interchangeable. The angle of the outer ring and the diameter of the outer raceway have been standardized and specified as the outer dimensions. Changes during design and manufacturing are not allowed. As a result, the outer ring and inner components of tapered roller bearings can be interchanged worldwide.

Tapered roller bearings are composed of a conical outer ring and a conical inner ring. The tapered outer ring assembly is composed of the outer ring, and the tapered inner ring assembly is composed of the inner ring, rollers and cage. Tapered roller bearings refer to the radial thrust rolling of tapered roller bearings. There are two types of bearings: large cone angle and small cone angle.

Small cone angles mainly bear radial loads. Radial and axial loads are often used in pairs and installed in opposite directions. The inner and outer races can be installed separately. The radial and axial clearances can be adjusted during installation and use.

The large cone angle mainly bears axial and radial combined loads, mainly axial combined. Tapered roller bearings are usually separate types, that is, they are composed of an inner ring with a roller and retainer assembly. The conical inner ring assembly can be installed separately from the conical outer ring. Tapered roller bearings are a type of bearing with a wide range of applications. They are used in mining equipment, medical equipment, factory machinery.


Tapered roller bearings are suitable for joint loads that mainly bear radial loads. When used, two bearings are usually required to be matched. They are widely used in the front and rear hubs, driving gears, differentials and other parts of automobiles.


Generally, when the bearing is installed correctly and well lubricated, the actual working speed of the bearing can be selected to be 0.3-0.5 times its limit speed. The best effect is to use 0.2 times the limit speed.


In actual use of tapered roller bearings, the tilt of the shaft relative to the housing hole does not exceed 2′.


The lubricant of tapered roller bearings has good high temperature resistance. If the lubrication is sufficient, the operating temperature can be allowed to be -30℃-150℃.


If single row tapered roller bearings are used, clearance adjustment is required after installation. The clearance value should be determined based on the operating conditions and fit interference. The installation of double row tapered roller bearings and water pump shaft bearings does not require adjustment of clearance.
